Frequently asked questions

The things patients ask us most. Can't find yours? Get in touch.

How do I make an appointment?

Phone reception on 01970 624855 — a receptionist is available from 8.00am, Monday to Friday. All clinics are by appointment.

What do I do when the surgery is closed?

Call NHS 111 for the GP Out of Hours service (Hywel Dda University Health Board), which covers 6.30pm–8.00am on weeknights, weekends and bank holidays. In an emergency always call 999.

How do I register as a patient?

Our list is open to permanent residents of Aberystwyth and the surrounding area — from Furnace to Llanon to Cwmystwyth — and we welcome university students. Contact reception to register.

Can I see my medical records?

Yes. You have the right to know what information we hold about you. Please put your request in writing to our Practice Manager.

Is there disabled access?

Yes — wheelchair access into the building, all services on the ground floor, accessible toilets in the waiting room and a portable hearing loop available on request.

Can I consult a GP online?

Not yet — appointments are currently booked by phone on 01970 624855. The practice is exploring online consultation tools (such as eConsult). When one is adopted, it will plug straight into this website with a prominent button on every page — nothing else changes.

Where can I find self-help advice?

Our Patient Information hub brings together trusted self-help resources — symptom checkers, the NHS Health A–Z, mental health helplines, screening, vaccinations and local support services across Ceredigion.
